| Editorial Reviews:
Product Description LAPD Lt. Carter Shaw (Dylan McDermott) and his special undercover task force understand that to collar criminals, one must first get on their level. They also know that going undercover may require cutting ties with those who mean the most. Adrift, isolated and frequently faced with situations that strain the line between right and wrong, these officers know that all that matters is loyalty to each other and to the task at hand: bringing down the bad guys.
From Jerry Bruckheimer Television (the CSI Trilogy, Without a Trace, Cold Case) comes another edgy and atmospheric series about dedicated law enforcers operating in the shadows and leading double lives. Omari Hardwick, Logan Marshall-Green and Nicki Aycox also star. This 4-Disc, 10-Episode Season One Collection of their edge-of-your-seat investigations will take you to the edge of darkness -- and beyond.

| Customer Reviews: ANOTHER GREAT COP SHOW FROM JERRY BRUCKHEIMER! August 20, 2010 Iron Man 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
Jerry Bruckheimer doesn't seem to run out of good ideas when it comes to cop shows...CSI trilogy, Cold Case, Without a Trace. And now comes Dark Blue, a special task force in the LAPD composed of specially-trained police officers whose job are to go undercover, infiltrate criminal organizations and bring them to justice. The team is composed of 4 police officers with unique personalities headed by Lt. Carter Shaw (Dylan McDermott), a grizzled, battle-scarred LAPD officer who is tasked with heading the task force and coming up with plans to bring down hardened criminals; Dean Bendis (Logan Marshall-Green), a no-nonsense guy who "absorbs" his role being an undercover cop and sometimes has a hard-time detaching himself from the roles his job demands; Ty Curtis (Omari Hardwick), the only married member of the team who tries to balance the demanding expectations from his job and his personal life and Jaimie Allen (Nicki Aycox) who was recruited by Lt. Carter to the team based on her past and struggles with demons of her own. The team put their lives on the line to infiltrate criminal organizations using deception, mundane and unconventional methods to get the job done. The plot is filled with a lot of action and drama that incorporates violence and human compassion at the same time. Its been a while since I have seen a cop show with this kind of story line. The members struggle with personal anxieties of their own but gets the job done at the end of the day. I Highly recommend this show for its unique plot and story line, deviating from the traditional cop shows we've seen in a very long time!
Ditto on the GREAT SHOW review ... problematic DVD September 5, 2010 D. Cervone (Hendersonville, Tennessee United States) It just doesn't get any better than this for TV crime drama. I actually started watching this year (Season 2) with the addition of Tricia Helfer to the already very impressive cast. I loved the show so much I wanted to catch up on its origins with the purchase of Season 1 on DVD. Suffice to say, the content is great. However, the quality of this DVD box set is not so perfect. Forget that it is not presented in 5.1 DD sound ... the sound is acceptable. And, generally speaking, the overall quality of video reproduction is very acceptable. The problem is with the DVD-R recordable media disc and the fact that it is not compatible with some DVD players ... resulting in occasional freezing of video and skipping issues. I have a Sony 9000 ES player and the only time I have had similar problems is when the "borrowed" disc was severely scratched. To be absolutely fair, perhaps I just received a bad copy. That being said, Disc #2 had so many errors, it was simply not watchable. It has been my experience, over the years, that the more expensive (and usually more precise) DVD players actually do make discs look their absolute best. However, the more precise and sensitive a player is ... occasionally it has tracking problems with damaged and/or sub-par quality discs, while a less accurate/sensitive player might play the same disc (although not with the same high quality video reproduction). In any case, if you purchase through Amazon and encounter any problems ... Amazon customer service is the best!
