Product Description The House Party pals make sure the party isn't over in a fresh comedy that asks: "What happens when the school records of a brainiac dweeb (Kid, the guy with the high-rise 'do) and a got-attitude street tough (hip-hop style master Play) get accidentally switched"
Meshach Taylor (Designing Women) Karyn Parsons (Fresh Prince of Bel-Air), Alysia Rogers (Boys N the Hood), Doug E. Doug (Hangin' with the Homeboys) and guest-stars Rhea Perlman (Cheers) and MTV maniac Pauly Shore (Encino Man) round out the class cast. And the def music is a class tune-up too.

Better then House Party September 3, 2004 Chris (St.Louis,MO) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
This is the best movie ever by Kid-N-Play I found it funny and cool. There was the geeky kid and then there was the hard gangsta that everyone was afraid of and they had switch schools. The geeky kid becomes pretty cool all in all a great movie.

Hey Dimita, I thoughtchu's gonna play with my frog... September 20, 2003 Donald Kenney (Buffalo, NY United States) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I felt the need to write a review for Class Act after reading the ones that tore it apart. This movie is not only FULL of brilliant one liners, it also holds a pretty funny story that's easy to follow and laugh at about 2 students (obviously kid and play) who's transcripts get switched on the first day of highschool making the bad kid and the smart kid reverse rolls. I guess its for the type of person that has a good sense of humor and can see that it was meant to be "stupid" funny and not aiming for a movie award. Kid and Play may have vanished years ago, but anytime i see this movie on TBS, it cracks me up and i actually came to amazon today to see if you can buy it on DVD because i definitely would.
Loved It September 10, 2004 That German Kid (Greensboro, NC) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I have also been searching for this great movie on DVD. I can't seem to find it anywhere. Maybe if enough people ask for it someone will here us and produce it. Love reading such great reviews and I hope everyone is passing this information on. If you haven't seen this movie you need to go out and pick it up, even if it is just on VHS. Keep hope alive.
Why isnt this movie on DVD? April 26, 2009 Nuisance (Miami) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I'll never understand why this movie never got a DVD release while terrible comedies(like anything produced by Aaron Seltzer and Jason Friedberg) get released and the Blu-ray treatment. Life can be cold sometimes. Class Act is one of the fond memories I have of the 90s.
If you dont already know this movie details The misadventures of Duncan(Kid of Kid N Play) and Blade(Play of Kid N Play). These two get mistaken for each other after in accident in the office and crazy hijinks ensue.
The funniest scenes would have to be when Blade is teaching Duncan how to be hip. Meshach Taylor is pretty funny as Duncan's father who thinks that Duncan might be a little sweet. Every time Wedge gets beaten up I laugh and when Rhea Pearlman(who plays Blade's teacher) was hitting on Blade I almost lost my breath laughing so hard. Yeah, its easy to think about what would happen if the mistake had never been made but that would have made for a boring movie.
Class Act is one of the funniest movies of 1992 and the fact that it isnt released on DVD while movies that everybody knows are horrible are released on Blu-ray is a crime. I recommend this movie to anybody that's a fan of 90s comedy. 100% funnier than the garbage that passes for humor these days.
